he NFHS is committed to providing an inclusive and positive environment for all students and to encourage participation. The NFHS believes that an understanding of the unique physical, psychological, emotional, and developmental needs of all middle-level age student participants should drive all aspects of middle-level education. 

Our goal is to guide middle-level students, coaches, administrators, parents, community and collaborative stakeholders to work together to influence every student to realize their potential to become the best versions of themselves in a safe environment. We believe middle-level Education-Based Activity programs exist to connect students to the fabric and culture of the school which leads to academic and life-long success.

The Middle School Committee will serve in an advisory role to the mission and current foundations of the National Federation of State High School Associations. Our ultimate purpose behind education-based activities is human growth and development which focuses on behavior, socialization, and self-realization.

Student participation in education-based middle school athletics and performing arts:
